Happy Saturday! Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle up in your favorite seat of the house as we chat about all things home, life, and randomness.
Good morning! The sun is shining, the tank is clean! (Finding Nemo reference) But seriously, the tank, I mean my house, is cleaner than it’s ever been. Cleaner than when we moved in. Cleaner than last year’s Spring Cleaning. Why? I hired a cleaning service. I have been talking about hiring a cleaning service to help with maintenance work for months, and this week everything finally came together.
Three women buzzed around my house while I worked downstairs in the Studio, and it was the height of luxury. (John Mulaney reference) Did it go smoothly? Eh, not really, but it was our first time around so I don’t expect perfection. For starters, the raccoons, I mean our young twin cats Doc and Marty, are little hellions. So I decided to close them up in the gym so they wouldn’t disturb the cleaners. (They get a strong high from attacking brooms, mops, and dusters) But the ladies weren’t sure if they were supposed to clean in there and there was just a lot of confusion despite Do Not Enter post-it’s on the door.
So I had Winston downstairs with me, but when it was time for them to clean downstairs, we didn’t really know where to go or what to do. We couldn’t go upstairs because the floor was drying, so we just went into the garage. And what do you do when you’re just awkwardly stuck in a garage? You clean it. Yep, while I was paying a cleaning crew to clean my house, I was cleaning the garage. (Face Palm)
I think next time I may just make Cleaning Time an extended lunch break. Winston and I will go out for lunch and sit outside at Starbucks for coffee. Or maybe we’ll putter around Home Depot. I’m not really sure how to navigate working from home and having cleaners there, so if you have advice, please share.

What’s On My Mind This Saturday Morning
After I reorganized under the kitchen sink on Monday, I decided to try something new for labels. Instead of my usual Cricut-made ones, I bought these pre-printed labels. Not going to lie, it was way easier and faster.
How did you feel about the Super Bowl this year? I loved the Halftime Show (I was cruising around in my very first car when those songs were released) but I was underwhelmed by the commercials. I did love the Rocket Homes commercial though. More nostalgia, because I was definitely a Barbie kid. Which commercial was your fave?
Have you ever worn press-on nails? They seem to be making a comeback. I’m seeing them everywhere and DIYers are all swearing by them lately. I love a good painted nail, but with weekly projects, they get chipped so easily. I was 100% influenced by Ashley from Til Vacuum Do Us Part to buy Red Aspen nails. I’ll report back after I try them out.
How was your Valentine’s Day? Do you and your partner buy each other gifts? And do you buy your kids gifts? We don’t really do V-Day gifts, or even celebrate the holiday at all, in our family. But this year I did order a pop-up paper flower bouquet. It had Star Wars cutouts throughout and it needed zero assembly. I’m already planning to buy an Easter one next because they’re SO cute!

One Last Thought
This mirror has been in the box behind this door since before Christmas. Yes, I know it’s almost March. And yes, I know I need to open it. But here’s my problem. In order to open it, I need to find a place for it. And there isn’t a place in my bedroom that’s available without rearranging all the furniture.
I don’t want it to face the bed because of Feng Shui and Chi and all that stuff everyone rolls their eyes at. But I don’t want it to face the window because I’ll be backlit if I take OOTD photos. The struggle is real! Why did I buy this massive mirror again? Do you have a big mirror in your bedroom, and if so, what is it facing?
