Happy Saturday! Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle up in your favorite seat of the house as we chat about all things home, life, and randomness.
Let’s be real, there is a lot of heaviness going on right now. This week Russia invaded Ukraine and the world watches as the peace we all prayed for is threatened. And while we all have mixed feelings and we are all entitled to internally dealing with these current events in our own way, there is one thing that’s certain. A temporary distraction is theraputic.
I’m not saying to ignore what’s happening, but I am saying that every so often, our brains need to decompress. That’s why I believe so strongly that practicing simple organization is something we all need right now.

When you are organizing a drawer, or straightening a cabinet, or alphabetizing your spices, you are forcing your mind to focus on something. Between figuring out the best system for storing your makeup or playing container-Tetris to fill up an entire cabinet, you are giving your brain an emotional break.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed this week, I want to encourage you to find one small organizing task that will keep you busy for 15-30 minutes. Turn off the TV, tell Alexa to “play cleaning music” and just zone out. It’s amazing what a little organization can do for your well-being.

What’s On My Mind This Saturday Morning
My son is hosting a “boys weekend” with his friends at our house, and this popcorn machine is popping on repeat. Add some movie theater box candy and blueberry soda, and these are happy fellas.
Nigel sent me this shrimp dip recipe and I am dying to try it. My mouth waters every time I watch the video…and I watch it a lot…
Modsy just dropped a 30% off flash sale for room designs, and I think I may get one for guest bedroom. It’s the final room in our house that hasn’t been de-gray-ified. Update: The flash sale is over. Wah-wahhhhh.
Update #2: All those The Home Edit bins from Walmart are still in my trunk…it’s been three weeks. Don’t look at me.

One Last Thought
Last week I mentioned that I ordered some press on nails from Red Aspen and promised I’d report back with how they turned out. I ended up ordering three different Nail Dashes, and I applied the Meet Me In Sonoma set yesterday. I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised.
I didn’t know what to expect with faux nails, but these look super natural. I usually chip or smudge my nails just one day after painting them, so knowing these will look as good as new until they pop off is pretty cool. I’ll let you know next week how they hold up. I’m not making any promises or claims just yet…
