Happy Saturday! Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle up in your favorite seat of the house as we chat about all things home, life, and randomness.
Good Saturday morning! I had an amazing time at Haven Conference last week, but boy am I happy to be home. I used to love to travel and be social, but somewhere along the years I have become such a homebody. When I got in my bed with my pillow and my cats curled up next me the first night we were back home, I knew Home is where I like to be.

But since this is our Morning Coffee Date, let’s chat about Haven. It’s a conference for bloggers, mostly in the home and DIY niche, and I was a guest speaker both days. I taught two classes on building daily routines; one day I spoke on a panel with 3 other organization experts and the other day I hosted a Q&A style workshop.

I was also invited to a Holiday In July dinner with The Home Depot, and it was magical. A five course meal, beautiful tablescapes, and some of the biggest Home Depot influencers were there. It just so happened to be my wedding anniversary, so Nigel and I got to dress up and have a nice meal to celebrate.

On Saturday I was chosen to compete in a holiday tree decorating contest hosted by King Of Christmas, and OMG that was so fun! It was like those reality competition shows where you get a mystery box, a surprise team, and one hour to come up with your concept and decorate the whole tree. I’ll be stealing my teammate Christin’s ribbon technique this holiday season, for sure!

Oh, and on Saturday night we attended a ’90s Red Carpet themed after-party, and I made my dress myself. I spent days working on making the most grunge-goth dress I could think of, and it all came together exactly how I looked in my mind. Nigel combined Axel Rose’s kilt look with Michael Jordan’s signature style, and paired with that wig, he was the star of the night.

What’s On My Mind This Saturday Morning
It’s Tax Free Weekend here in Tennessee and I planned on buying a new Mac for editing my videos…but they’re all sold out already…until October. Howwwww????
My son is starting the school year as a high school freshman, and this command center is going to be his go-to organizer to manage his schoolwork and extracurricular activities.
Normally I love to make labels with my Cricut machine, but I was short on time when organizing my new laundry room so I used these preprinted labels instead. They look so profesh!
Noah’s zipper bedding is on sale this weekend and I can’t recommend it enough. He actually makes his bed every single day now, even on school days. PS: Code LELA gets you 15% off!
My favorite purchase from my travels last week was this toiletry bag. It has a hanger so you don’t lose countertop space and it is tall enough to hold full-size bottles. Best travel bag I’ve ever had.

One Last Thought
If you have school-age kids, here’s your reminder to start adjusting your morning and evening routines now. And don’t wait until school starts to implement them. It’s a good idea to ease into new routines ahead of time so it’s not such a shock to your systems.
Think back to what worked last year, as well as what didn’t. It’s okay to experiment with different methods, and it helps to ask your kids and partner for input on how you can improve on last year’s routines.
