Happy Saturday! Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle up in your favorite seat of the house as we chat about all things home, life, and randomness.
This morning I woke up, gave the cats their morning treats, took Winston out, then hurried down to the garage to see how the floors looked after they dried. Yesterday I spent over five hours scrubbing and pressure washing the garage floors, and I was dying to see the big transformation.
Pull in a record scratch sound effect right here, because I did not enter the room to see what I expected. Sure, I had unrealistic expectations, but I kind of expected the floors to look pretty. What I walked into still looks like a hot mess. [Insert nervous laughter]

Yes, I did get the 50+ years of oil stains off the floor, along with the abundance of stickers, caulk, chewing gum, and putty (what did the people who lived here before us do in this garage??). So it definitely is cleaner. I walked on it with my bare feet and wasn’t grossed out.
But it looks so bad. For a minute, I considered doing it again. Nope. Pass. Then I considered spending $500 on two big mats that would cover the ugly floors. I actually had them in my Walmart cart and was ready to checkout.

But then I realized something. It’s a garage. Just a garage. This wasn’t supposed to be some huge makeover with magazine-worthy before and afters. The sole purpose of this project is just to clean up the garage and organize it so it’s functional. And I achieved the heck out of that goal.
So I think I’m done with the floor. It’s clean. And that’s what I wanted. Maybe one day we’ll get it epoxied. But for now, I’m content. All that’s left to do is paint the paneling and then I can move on to my next project in another room. (Maybe I’ll celebrate with a Chocolate Thunder from Outback first, though.)

What’s On My Mind This Saturday Morning
This scrubber has been by my side throughout the whole garage cleaning process. It’s definitely the best cleaning tool I own.
Winston’s seasonal hot spots are back, and this balm helps way more than his prescription does. If your pet has skin allergies in the summer, I can’t recommend it enough.
I took a day off from the garage this week to clean our sofa with this new upholstery cleaner. My couch didn’t even look dirty, but the water in the tank proved otherwise. I can’t wait to use it again somewhere else.
Good thing I didn’t drop $500 on garage mats, because the Magnolia Summer Collection just dropped at Target and I want it all! Especially this striped melamine plate set for $10!
My fave sports bra is on sale this weekend. I wear them almost every day during my workouts and cycling classes. I love it because it’s lightweight and super long which feels more comfortable to me. (PS: I take the pads out. They’re too annoying to remove and put back in after washes.)

One Last Thought
Last week I teased a new project, and I mentioned it again earlier in this post. But actually…I have three new projects coming up! I won’t give away too many details because I know you love to follow along in realtime as projects unfold, but here’s the exclusive first announcement of what’s coming up…
Our guest room is getting a full room and closet makeover, our laundry room is getting a major storage upgrade, and a few more areas of the Studio are getting some facelifts! It’s going to be a busy summer here! What projects are you going to be working on this summer?
