Happy Saturday! Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle up in your favorite seat of the house as we chat about all things home, life, and randomness.
You can find me squished up in a corner this morning with my largest mug full of coffee in one hand and hugging my legs with the other arm. (Kind of dramatic, but I’m definitely that way in my head) My son graduated 8th grade this week and my husband keeps calling him a man now. I need it all to stop. It seems like just yesterday he was in kindergarten bringing home ‘All About My Mom’ worksheets stating that I’m either 18 or 38 years old (both were very wrong) and my favorite hobby is “sitting on the couch.”
It feels weird saying my kid is in high school. But honestly, I love this age more than any age he’s ever been. He’s funny and witty and sarcastic, just like me. He’s just fun to be around. I’ve heard people talk about the “dreaded teenage years” but I have loved every second of it so far.
I guess I’m more of an “older kid mom” than a “baby mom.” I like driving him to a date at the movies and hearing about how it went afterward. I like when his friends come over and they shoot videos in our basement. And I like that Noah can cook us dinner without us even having to be in the kitchen. (Yeah, that’s the best!)
So even though I’m all up in my feels about him getting older, I wouldn’t change a thing. If you’re a mom of older kids or maybe yours have already grown up and moved out, I’d love to hear your opinions in the comments. What age did you enjoy the most?

What’s On My Mind This Saturday Morning
Do you still read magazines? I love them and hope they never go away. Although as soon as my BHG magazine got through the door, one of my cats ATE half of the front page. Yep, consumed it.
We made these Rice Krispy treats using plant based butter with this vegan caramel sauce and thick sea salt on top for Noah’s teachers earlier in the week. Whether you’re vegan/dairy intolerant or not, they’re the best rice Krispy treat recipe I’ve ever had.
Love Harry Potter? Looking for an impossible challenge that will frustrate you and make you cuss in front of your kids? Look no further than this puzzle! I got is as a Winter Solstice gift from Nigel and after two weeks we can’t even get the edge finished.
I questioned whether these refrigerator shelf liners were worth my time and money…until yesterday when something brown and sticky leaked out all over my fridge. Whatever this mystery ooze was stayed on the liners and I immediately left a positive review for them on Amazon.
Need a new pair of workout shoes? These are my favorite sneakers for weight lifting, walking, and sitting on the porch eating Oreos thinking about what it would be like to run a marathon. Keyword: thinking.

One Last Thought
Yesterday in my Instagram Stories, I shared an embarrassing video of my garage. There’s no “organized,” it’s just 100% “-ish.” This week I’ll be clearing the whole thing out, doing a deep clean, selling a bunch of old things on Marketplace and donating the rest, then bringing it back in a little at a time to get every single item organized to it’s max potential.
Whether you have a garage or not, this will be a fun show that will either give you a ton of inspiration OR a lot of laughs as I struggle through the process. Either way, I hopped aboard the Hot Mess Express with a one way ticket to my garage. Will I make it out alive?
