Good Saturday morning my friend! I am so excited about this new series because I started this blog seven years ago to connect with other women like me who love to organize and create things, but also have a real life, real families, and can’t keep a house perfect all the time. Whether you’ve been with me from the very start or we just met yesterday, I want to invite you to grab a hot cup of coffee, snuggle up in your favorite spot in the house, and escape the craziness of the week behind us.
This is so fun for me to write because there are no step-by-step instructions, no Google formats to follow, and no end game. We’re just chatting. You and me. About whatever we want. Welcome to the random craziness that goes on in my real-life coffee dates with girlfriends. Since I can’t be with you to smell the vanilla latte you’re holding, let’s just pretend we’re in a cute little coffee shop with Norah Jones playing in the background. Got it in your head? Ok! Let’s catch up!

Can I just tell you about my newest obsession? Watching hand-lettering videos. Yep, writing with your hands, but prettier. (I know what you’re thinking, and yes, the name is silly. Of course you write with your hands.) I’m loving these videos for upgrading mailing envelope addresses.
Speaking of happy mail, how pretty is this new color collection for the Cricut Insert Cards? I can’t wait to snag a pack and mail out some “just because” cards. Do you ever mail cards for no reason, just to say hi? I think we should all do it more.
If you’re looking for a new snack recipe, I have been DYING to share this savory Chex Mix with you. We made it for Christmas Eve, and since then we’ve made it four other times and it’s only February. I just made another batch yesterday for my son’s sleepover tonight. Who thinks the teenage boys will eat it all in one weekend? (My hand is raised)
And if you’re not into savory snack mixes and prefer to give your sweet tooth a treat, this snack mix is SO good, and combines popcorn with melted white chocolate. Basically heaven to your mouth and hell to your diet.

Wanna know who else is on a diet? Mr. Winston. Wintertime has resulted in some extra pounds, which don’t mix with a doggo who’s still recovering from severe heartworm disease. He’s getting longer, more frequent walks, and we switched from daily duck treats to dried bananas and dehydrated pumpkin slices. Have you ever put your dog on a diet before? Please share tips and tricks with me!
And while we’re on the subject of pets, can I just tell you that our young twin kitties (our foster fails, to be exact) are morphing into total jerks. Haha! I can say that safely here because they can’t read, and I trust you to not tell them I said that. They’ve been destroying things right and left, darting through the door to the garage, and basically just testing my patience. Shouldn’t 1 year old cats be over this toddler stage by now? Pretty sure they’re raccoons in cat bodies.
A few more things I’ve been into lately:
I’m starting this program on March 1st to find my zen again.
I cleaned up one tiny section of my garage, and I can’t stop staring at my own photos of it.
Like dad jokes? Here’s 175 of them.
According to BHG, beiges and warm tones are the trending paint colors this year. I have been painting our whole house cream and beige, and I don’t even care what the beige-haters say. It’s classic.
Want a feel-good cry? I can watch this video of Keala Settle coming out her shell for The Greatest Showman every single day for the rest of my life. If you don’t get goosebumps, you’re not human.
And finally, next time you’re at Walmart, look in the kitchen utensil aisle for these Thyme & Table quote spatulas. There are a bunch of varieties and they’re all hilarious. I want them all.
My Mug’s Empty!
That means it’s time to wrap up this coffee chat and get the day started. I would love to hear what you think of this new series, what you’d like to see, or hear your thoughts and comments on the nonsense I shared above. I’d also like to keep the conversation going, so leave your comments below so we can have a real coffee date chat. Your turn to talk!
