Beddys bedding honest review

How I Got My Son To Make His Bed Every Day: Beddy’s Review

November 3, 2021 · In: Kids, Reviews & Roundups

I recently swapped my son’s traditional bedding for a Beddy’s bedding set. Here’s my full review and how it changed his whole morning routine.

Anybody else feel like a broken record when asking your kids if they made up their bed? The answer is almost always “I forgot” or “not yet.” Why is it so hard for kids to make their beds? It’s not a difficult task, but it is a boring [and kind of pointless] task. My son’s logic is “why do I have to make it up if I’m just going to get in it again tonight?” In true mom fashion, my answer is “because I said so.”

A few groans later, the covers are thrown to the top of the bed, the top sheet is still hanging out of the side, and the pillows are somewhat stacked in a pile that resembles a nerf dart battle bunker. For the last 14 years, I just accepted that this was as good as it would get and let it go. But I recently made the big swap from traditional bedding to a Beddy’s bedding set, and y’all, the game has changed!

Here’s a common view of the bed in my son’s room. This photo was taken at 3pm on a Wednesday. I’m not even sure how a bed can get that crumpled overnight. Clearly he’s dreaming about being a professional wrestler or a lion chasing a gazelle. But look what happens when I made the big switch…

Now look at this. Same bed, same placement, same layout, same rug, same everything. But doesn’t it just look so put together? It’s all because of the bedding. And you know what the best part is? HE can do this himself. And he does every day.

What Is Beddy’s Bedding?

Beddy’s is a bedding company that sells all-in-one bedding sets featuring a patented zip-up design. It’s pretty much a giant custom sleeping bag for a bed. The fitted sheet, top sheet, and comforter are all built in together and it zips around the bottom and sides to “make up the bed.”

Doesn’t that look like a bed from a magazine? Or like a seasoned room stylist tucked in the covers perfectly? I totally think this is the neatest and tidiest bedding, and it takes zero effort to make it this way. If your kid can zip a jacket, they can make the bed just like this.

The Exact Beddy’s Bedding I Chose

When you buy a Beddy’s bedding set, it comes with the top and bottom pieces that zip together, along with matching pillowcases and shams. You get one pillowcase and one sham for a toddler or twin size, and two each for Full, Queen, and King sizes. (YES, these do come in big sizes for us grown-ups, too!) I chose the Naturally Boho set because it’s a perfect neutral. I got the cotton lined option instead of the Minky one because Noah’s a hot sleeper.

I just can’t get over the quality of this bedding. At first glance, I was hesitant because of the price of Beddy’s sets. It seemed like quite a bit of money for bedding, especially for a teenager. But when the set arrived and I started taking it out of the package, I was immediately impressed. Both the top and bottom pieces are thick and plush without being hot and heavy, and the built-in sheets are buttery smooth.

I also ordered the Prep School Accessory Bundle and I’m so glad I did. I’ve never been good at coordinating bedding (that’s why I had an e-design company put together my primary bedroom for me) so the fact that Beddy’s offers full accessory sets was well worth it for me.

Beddys accessory bundle review

The accessory bundle came with two Euro pillows and covers, two decorate pillows and covers, one lumbar pillow and cover, a big throw blanket, and a digital art print. Yep, you read that right, they included the pillows too. They’re fluffy, cozy, karate-chop-worthy feather down pillows and super luxurious. The feather pillows came packed in compressed packages and I thought they might be too thin, but once I fluffed them up, they were the perfect thickness.

Is Beddy’s Bedding Worth It For Kids And Teens?

In my totally honest opinion, Beddy’s is absolutely 110% worth it. The quality is probably the best I’ve ever seen in a bedding set, but the fact that my son actually makes up his bed without me even asking him to is worth the price over and over again. My husband has said multiple times that he’s jealous of Noah’s bedding and wants it for our own bedroom, and I’m positive I’ll be adding a set to our guest room to up my hostess game.

Have you tried this yet? I did not expect it to wo Have you tried this yet? I did not expect it to work this well the first time I did it but now I’ll never dust baseboards any other way.
It also works well on door panels, picture frame moulding, chair rails, and even gets those hairs off back of the toilet that tend to stick and slide around when cleaning. 🙌🏼

Do you have a command center in your house? If you Do you have a command center in your house? If you’ve been planning on adding one, here are three tips for customizing it so it works for you:
1. Add a calendar so the whole family is on the same page about what’s going on that month.
2. Decide what needs to be stored in your command center and add storage based on those needs. Don’t worry about what other people use or keep in their own command center because we all live different lives and need different things.
3. Don’t try to make your family change their habits. If they’re used to dropping keys on the counter, a hook may not work for them. Instead, give them a bowl or tray to drop keys in. And if they’re used to sticking reminders on the fridge, add a bulletin or magnet board so they can put them there. Work *with* your family’s habits, not against them.
See the full project and get more command center setup tips in my newest YouTube video. All the product sources I used here are saved in the description of that video too. 🙌🏼

Can I tell you a secret? I’ve never been a fan o Can I tell you a secret? I’ve never been a fan of doing yard work. The gas was stinky, the tools were loud, and the garage was a mess. But all that changed when I switched to @HARTtoolsUSA battery powered outdoor equipment.
Now I love the ritual of cranking up music in my earbuds, taking all the tools off the wall, and the instant satisfaction of the yard going from a chaotic mess to a well-manicured lot.
No joke, our neighbor who was using a gas powered mower actually apologized for the “noise” after hearing our 40V Supercharge Brushless Mower. 😅
Between the HART 40V Outdoor Power Equipment and the Garage Rail System, summer yard work has never been easier. Find them all online at walmart.com. I also saved all the info to a Story Highlight for you too!

Have you tried museum gel before? One of the most Have you tried museum gel before?
One of the most asked questions has the most simple answer. Museum gel comes in either sticker form like these dots I’m using or in a jar. It keeps things in place without permanently adhering them to a surface. Trays can be removed for washing then put right back in with the same piece of gel.
🛒 I saved my favorite types of museum gel to my Amazon Storefront, but you really can’t go wrong with any brand.
