Krazy Glue fix phone charger

How To Fix A Frayed Phone Charger

July 30, 2021 · In: Projects, Quick Win Friday

Learn how to fix a frayed phone charger and save it from the trash using Krazy Glue and a pair of tweezers.

My car’s phone charger cord has seen better days, and clearly has been rocking its job responsibilities to the max. It was completely frayed around the end and the wires inside were at risk of breaking, or worse, damaging my cell phone. I was seconds away from throwing it in the trash and venturing out to the phone store to get another when I had a genius idea…Krazy Glue.

I keep Krazy Glue on hand at all times for home repairs and craft projects, and I don’t know why I didn’t think of this phone charger repair hack sooner. But I’m happy to report that after a few weeks of using the fixed phone charger, the frayed ends are still stuck in place and the patch job totally worked! If your phone charger looks like mine, here’s how to fix it.

How To Fix A Phone Charger With Krazy Glue

Start by gently bending the plug part to expose the wires and gain access to the inside where the frayed edges are supposed to be.

Squirt in a little bit of Krazy Glue into that space. Be careful not to go overboard, because a little goes a long way.

Using a pair of tweezers, carefully push the frayed edges up into the connector space. Work your way around, making sure all the ends stay inside the connector, and try to be quick so the glue doesn’t dry.

Krazy Glue starts working in about 30 seconds, so you’ll need to be fast and efficient.

Once all the ends are pushed back inside, use the tweezers to gently squeeze around the edge of the cord beside the connector to lock it all in place.

Let the charger sit undisturbed for 24 hours, then it’s all set to use again! You can bend it, move it, and flex it, and it won’t budge. The Krazy Glue reinforces the connector even stronger than it was when you bought it!

He met this four year old little dude who was sick on the couch clutching his Lightening McQueen car. Soon after, Noah told me in the car “Mommy let’s stay friends with him, ok?”
So we did. And here we are ten years later. Nothing makes my heart more full than seeing these two together.
…Except when they gang up on me for asking [dumb] questions about superheroes… 😅

Let’s talk about organizing overwhelm. Yep, we a Let’s talk about organizing overwhelm. Yep, we are going there…
As exciting and freeing and calming it is to get a space cleaned up and organized, it’s also stressful and overwhelming and exhausting. Especially when you’re doing big projects.
After three weeks straight of working on my garage, I was reaching the point of burnout. I got behind on other things, I constantly felt like I wasn’t doing enough, and my to-do list kept getting longer.
If you’re feeling this way today, I want you to give yourself permission to do these two things:
1. Take a break. It is ok to pause a project and take some chill time. Log off of social media, stop looking at your list, and just recharge.
2. Remove things from your list. You might have planned a huge project, but after a while you start losing enthusiasm. At that point, let some plans go. Save them for later in the year, or maybe even never. Projects should be flexible, not set in stone.
What’s something on your to-do list you can let go of today to save you time and stress?
