An honest update on how Beddy’s bedding has held up over the last two years and whether it’s worth the money for your kid’s bedroom.
It has been almost two years since we switched my son’s traditional bedding for Beddy’s, and now seems like a great time to post an update on whether it stands the test of time. I posted my original review here, but that was after just a month or so of use. So let’s revisit the bedding, accessories, cost, and maintenance now that my son and I are both more experienced with it all.

What Is Beddy’s Bedding?
Beddy’s is a brand of bedding that zips up like a sleeping bag. The bottom half works like a fitted sheet, and the top half is a comforter that can either have a top sheet built in or just be a fuzzy lining like a blanket.
The whole concept of Beddy’s is the ability to make up the bed quickly and have it always looking neat and tidy. That’s what drew me in to try it out for my son’s room. He was 13 when we got it, and his bed was almost never made up. If I asked him to, he’d make the bed, but there was never a day that he just did it on his own.
All that changed when we got Beddy’s. I don’t know if it was just fun to zip up or he was just excited about his fancy new bedding, but he made that bed every single time he got out of it. I’m talking zipping the layers together, arranging the pillows, folding the blanket at the end of the bed, the whole shebang. It was like the fabric was made with magical fairy-mom dust.

Beddy’s Bedding After Two Years Of Use
Fast forward two years, and I can honestly say that my son still makes him bed on his own without me even asking him to most of the time. And as the parent of a teenager, most of the time is good enough for me.
Is it because of Beddy’s or just because he’s almost 16 and takes pride in having a tidy room? I don’t know the answer to that. But I do know that when I asked him recently if he was still happy with his Beddy’s or if he wanted to switch back to traditional bedding, he cut me off before I finished my question and said he absolutely wanted to keep his Beddy’s.
So now that the newness had worn off and he still loves the bedding, it’s safe to say that from a kid’s standpoint (or young man in my case) it’s totally worth the investment. When he has friends over, they almost always comment on how nice his bedding is. And the zippers really do make it look nice all the time.

Does Beddy’s Have Wear And Tear After Two Years?
For the price of Beddy’s, I would expect that it would hold up extremely well. And that expectation has been true for me so far.
The fabric quality really has been amazing and the zipper is still strong and damage-free. There are literally zero snags, pulls, stains, or anything on the top or bottom pieces.
I have noticed a tiny bit of piling on the top piece in a few places, but nothing a fabric shaver can’t take care of in a few seconds. I don’t see that as a sign of low-quality fabric, I just see it as a normal thing that happens to bedding.

What Is Beddy’s Maintenance Like?
I’ll admit that switching to Beddy’s has a bit of a learning curve when it comes to washing. You can’t just shove some dirty sheets in a washing machine, then tumble in the dryer and have a freshly clean bed again in a couple of hours.
Washing Beddy’s is pretty much an all-day job. Of course, it’s not hands-on all day. Your washing machine and dryer do most of the work. But you really have to get a jump on it in the morning in order to have the bed ready by bedtime for your kid to sleep in.

I wrote a whole post on how to wash Beddy’s here, but basically you have to wash the bottom first, then the top separately. And the top takes a while to dry in the dryer—at least two hours for me on low heat or an hour and a half on medium heat.
Is the washing routine a deal-breaker? Not really, but it is something you have to plan for. With regular bedding, you can have a backup set of sheets so you don’t have to wash, dry, and replace all in the same day. But Beddy’s is chunky (and expensive), so it’s not realistic to have a second set.

Is The Beddy’s Accessory Bundle Worth It?
When we were picking out my son’s Beddy’s order, he really wanted an Accessory Bundle, he big set that came with two Euro pillows, two decorative pillows, one lumbar pillow, and one big blanket. If you’re keeping count and including the sleeping pillows and standard pillows with shams, that is NINE PILLOWS on one bed.
He insisted that was what he wanted, and proved it by arranging each pillow perfectly every single time he made his bed. But over time he started to get annoyed with half of his bed being taken over by pillows. And two were lined with leather which wasn’t even comfortable to lean on.
My Son’s Beddy’s Then And Now

This month he decided to finally let go of most of the pillows and cut it down to just the standard sleeping pillows, two standard pillows with shams, and the big lumbar. It’s faster to make up, looks less cluttered, and is more comfortable for him to lean on when watching TV there.
The accessory he loves the most is the blanket. It has the minky fabric on the underside, and it’s thick and plush. He keeps it on the edge of his bed and carries it into the living room for lounging. It’s not necessary for the actual bed since the Beddy’s top is so thick, but it gets a ton of use and looks nice at the end of the bed.

My Honest Opinion Of Beddy’s After Two Years
Ok, so here’s the truth. I still recommend Beddy’s for a kid’s room. Yes, I think it’s worth the money. Yes, I think it’s worth the time to wash it. And yes, the quality really is that good. I haven’t seen any damage, deterioration, or zipper malfunctions at all. Stains wash off easily, too.
If Beddy’s is in your budget, I think it’s absolutely a great purchase. But I don’t think you should stretch your finances to get it, especially if you have multiple kids. Waiting for sales helps you save a good bit, and you can use my code LELA for a discount during non-sale times.
And if your budget can only cover the Beddy’s set but no accessories, don’t worry about them. The accessories aren’t necessary, and if you want to add some later, you can always order during another sale. You can also take advantage of Bundles to get a discount on everything at once.
