Best Of 2022: Organization

December 19, 2022 · In: Organize

Here are the top home organization blog posts from 2022, along with the most popular social media tips and videos from Lela Burris and the Organized-ish Team.

Over the last year, I have spent almost every day either here on the blog or on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest sharing organizing ideas and inspo with any type of home, budget, and family size in mind. 2022 was a year of tons of video content, mini-organizing projects, and a huge focus on decluttering and purging. Here are the top organizing posts of the year, and trust me, they’re good ones!

1. Organizing A Galley Kitchen

It’s rare that a new blog post picks up steam quickly since it takes a while for the internet to find out that it even exists, but when I posted a look inside every single cabinet and drawer in my galley-style kitchen, it blew up immediately. Sure, the kitchen remodel was incredible, but I am fully aware that it’s the budget-friendly storage solutions that really stole the show.

2. Monthlong Garage Cleanup

Yes, it took me an entire month to clean and organize my garage, but no, I did not break the bank. I used affordable organizers from Walmart, smart storage systems, and even got techy with QR labels to completely transform my hot mess of a garage into a space to store all our stuff and even park one of our vehicles, too. See the full garage organization project here.

3. Organizing A Bathroom On Two Different Budgets

I wasn’t surprised when this post popped up on the top five list, because it really proves that organization is all about function and budget doesn’t matter. In this post, I organized the same bathroom vanity and the same supplies in two different budget ranges. You can see side-by-side comparisons and find out whether the expensive containers really are better or not…

4. First Annual Instagram Purge-A-Thon

On my Instagram page, @lelaburris, we held the very first annual Purge-a-thon. Hundreds of thousands of people joined in and committed to purging items in their house and downsizing their belongings. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to do it again next summer. You can re-watch the whole Story series in Part One and Part Two highlight bubbles, and get all the details of how to do it yourself anytime of the year in this blog post.

5. Why You Need A Sunday Reset Routine

Being Organized-ish isn’t just about organizing your house; it’s about organizing your lifestyle too. The most popular life organization blog post, Instagram post, and Pinterest post was how to create a Sunday Reset Routine and exactly what goes into it. Here’s the step by step planning guide to get started.

Most Popular Videos: Laundry Organization

Laundry organization videos dominated the 2022 top list on both my Instagram and TikTok with over 10 million views on just this topic. From the little gadgets that make my laundry room more functional to how to clean a washing machine, and even an entire series on washing and folding clothes, it was clear that you’re looking for ways to make a boring task more fun. You can expect lots more laundry tips next year! (PS: You can tour my laundry room in this blog post)
